Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Solicitation Number MDA414-01-Q-0003, is issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular #97-27, Final Rule effective 6/25/01. A Requirements Type Contract for which delivery orders will be issued with fixed unit prices for a base period of twelve months, will be awarded for the items identified. The proposed procurement will be conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Items being solicited are CLIN 0001, -- K-3, WORLD and UNITED STATES WALL MAP COMBINATION. Description of Requirements: Two maps mounted on spring roller with backboard. The maps must be printed on strong stock so they do not tear and must be markable in order that the students can mark on them. The maps must be colorful and use upper and lower case letters appropriately. (Example: Texas not TEXAS). Maps must be easy to read with no abbreviations. The World Map should use the Van der Grinten Projection. Dimensions of the maps should be 65" wide. Estimated Award Quantity: 841 each for approximately 105 Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS). CLIN 0002 -- GRADES 4-5, WORLD and UNITED STATES WALL MAP COMBINATION. Description of Requirements: The map combination should be a pictorial relief map that helps students visualize the terrain. Major landforms, plains, plateaus, and mountain systems should be emphasized. Landforms should be clearly labeled. For the US Map, the inset should show Alaska and Hawaii. The elevation differences should be clearly defined by colors. The maps should be markable, printed on strong stock and mounted on one roller. Dimensions of the maps should be at least 65" wide. Either Van der Grinten or Robinson Projection is acceptable for both CLINS 001 and 0002. Estimated Award Quantity: 484 each for approximately 105 Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS). Delivery: 30 days after award of contract. FAR Clause 52.247-29 F.O.B. Origin (6/88), FAR Clause 52.213-1 Fast Payment Procedures (2/98), FAR Clause 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items (10/2000) and FAR Clause 52.212-2 (10/95) Evaluation-Commercial Items are incorporated by reference and apply to this acquisition. Offers shall include a complete copy of the provisions at FAR Clause 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its quotation. FAR Clause 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items (5/99) and FAR Clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Status of Executive Orders -- Commercial Items (5/2001) are incorporated by reference and apply to this acquisition and resulting contract. Additional Contract Requirement: DFAR Clause 252.204-7004 Required Central Contractor Registration (Jun 98) (www.ccr2000.com or 1-888-352-9333) and DFAR Clause 252.232-7009 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (CCR).
